Job Description:
 

  • Answering incoming calls meeting identified response standards.  Logging requests for technical assistance and documenting all information regarding the resolution of requests for technical assistance in the Remedy ITSM system, using established guidelines and procedures.
  • Monitoring open cases for resolution within established timeframes and escalating to appropriate parties when necessary.
  • Providing workstation and mobile device support for networked devices, client server systems and various Microsoft operating systems and numerous internal software platforms across the State of Michigan enterprise computing environment. 
  • Administering, implementing, and providing technical support of applications and associated hardware used in a client server environment utilizing a specialized set of diagnostic tools with elevated privileges.
  • Performing remote software installs, automated and manual delivery, using SCCM/Configuration Manager.
  • Developing guidelines and upgrading techniques for new operational procedures for the support of databases, hardware systems, operating systems software, network systems software, security and client server systems.
  • Researching, analyzing, developing, and documenting new processes and procedures to implement new solutions to meet future problem resolution needs.

 
Desired Skills:
 

  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in an IT Help Desk environment, with demonstrated use of the Remedy IT Service Management System preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide positive customer service; good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in current Windows operating systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with device driver installation, encryption software, VPN networks, and web-based applications.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain current knowledge of identified software products and support policies in order to provide technically accurate solutions to customers. 
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and demonstrated ability to adapt to change. 
  • Possession of a certificate in information systems, data processing, electronics technology, mainframe operations or microcomputer systems gained through completion of a one-year college level curriculum or equivalent experience.
