OUTLINE
Raj
Kumar Santoshi is back
in limelight with 'Khakee',
a film that harnesses the
talent of top Bollywood
actors. Amitabh Bachhan,
Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan,
Tushar Kapoor and Aishwarya
Rai, come together for
the first time in Raj Kumar
Santoshi's forthcoming venture
- Khakee. Khakee sounds
familiar because the movie
has already been in news
due to Ash's accident while
shooting for the movie.
But alls well that ends
well and finally the movie
is ready for a grand post.
The movie is actually based
on realistic event that
happened in mumbai, which
started as a routine mission
of shifting an ISI terrorist
Iqbal Ansari from Chandangadh
to Mumbai, ended as a nightmare.
The first escort team of
police officers was ambushed
midway, blown to bits. But
a brave officer managed
to ensure that Ansari did
not escape. Now another
team was being sent to do
this job from Mumbai. For,
there are people who do
not want Ansari to get to
Mumbai. And what could one
expect if there was a traitor
among the three officers.
The Professor faces the
daunting task and he is
even willing to put his
life on line to see that
the he fulfills the mission
assigned to him.

STORY LINE
DCP Anant
Shrivastav ‘The Professor’
(Amitabh Bachchan)
gets an important assignment
on the eve of his daughter's
wedding. The professor’s
police career has been a
checkered one with more
failures than successful
missions to his credit.
Now, past the prime of his
life, this was his one last
chance to do something and
prove himself. Along with
the Professor on this mission
is the clever, cunning,
brave but rotten to the
core is Sr. Inspector Shekhar
Sachdev (Akshay Kumar).
He is an unscrupulous man
who follows his own morality
without the least bit pricking
of conscience. Although
he did not want to be a
part of this mission, his
superiors forced him into
it. He didn't want to be
a part of any suicide mission,
but had no choice. And there
is also Sub-Inspector Ashwin
Gupte (Tusshar Kapoor),
who has recently graduated
from the Police training
school and has never been
on a serious mission before.
He was going to find out
the hard way that there
was a massive difference
between training school
and the ground reality of
the harsh, corrupt and a
violent world out there.
These three officers accompanied
by two constables were now
given the charge of escorting
the dreaded terrorist and
a crucial witness in the
case against him, from Chandanghad
to Mumbai. And the trio
set out on their journey,
not aware of the danger
that lies ahead. But someone
out there didn't want them
to get to Mumbai. A nameless,
faceless enemy who was always
one step ahead of them and
would do all he could…to
stop them. Thus a three-day
assignment would become
a never-ending nightmare.
An overnight journey would
become a journey into a
dark world of brutality,
corruption, conspiracies
and terrorist.

ANALYSIS
Khakee's
music has adequate shades
to mark the advent of
Ram Sampath, who appends
himself to the stiff competition
on the Bollywood music scene
and has composed music for
over 5000 odd commercials.
Also, with an ace like Raj
Kumar Santoshi and a
galaxy of Bollywood luminaries,
it is affirmed that Khakee's
music will get the desired
exposure and visual treatment.
Khakee's music can easily
find a place in your music
collection. Sameer
has penned lyrics for the
film. Continuing his penchant
for item numbers, Santoshi
has roped in Lara Dutta
this time around who sizzles
in the “Aisa Jadoo”
track.
The film also stars Aishwarya
Rai and Tanuja
in pivotal roles. Ajay
Devgan plays Inspector
Angere, the mystery
man in the pack. Jaya Prada
puts in an appearance alongside
Big B after a long hiatus
