Michigan Cricket League (MichCA) is pleased to announce that 2008 Inter University & College T20 Cricket Tournament will be held on Oct 11th and 12th.
The games have been organized at Bloomer Park (Rochester Hills, MI), Lyon Oaks Park (Wixom, MI), Beatty Park (Toledo, OH) and Cleveland CC Ground (Richmond Heights, OH).
This year, NINE different teams for various Schools and Universities are competing to win 2008 IUST Cup.

| Description |
According to the Vedic literature, Ganesha is the eldest son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi and he is the head of Pramadhaganas, hence Ganapathi. His brother is Kumaraswamy(Lord Muruga). Hindus worship Lord Ganesha with several other names like Vinayaka, Vighneswara, Gajanana and Ganapathi. Lord Ganapathi is said to be the form of Omkara. Om, which is written in Devanagari (script) is also considered as the pranava. In Om, the upper arc is said to be the head or the face of Gajanana. The Lower arc is his belly. The twisted arc, which is on the right side of Om is the trunk. Thus Omkara represents the complete physical form of Lord Ganesha. Similarly, yet another divine symbol, the Swastika is also worshipped as another form of Lord Ganesha. According to the Indian culture, both these symbols have divine values. |

Bharatiya Temple Community Event - Srimad Bhagavad Saptah
The Srimad Bhagavad Saptah discourse is part of the celebration of the
25th Anniversary of the Prana Pratishta of the Deities at our Temple.
Prana in Sanskrit is "breath" and Pratishta is "establishing" - so in
other words, our head priest, Brahmasri V. Janaki Rama Sastry
performed the puja to bring the sacred images to life in 1983.
In honor of the 25 years that we have been able to have darshan (Holy
Vision) of god, we will be producing a commemorative brochure. Those
interested in contributing to the brochure with memories, thoughts and
especially with financial support (we will take ads and blessings),
please email Brochure Editor Padma Kuppa at padma.kuppa@gmail.com or
saptahbrochure2008@gmail.com.
In addition, we are happy to announce that we are seeking essay
contest entries from youth in grades 6 to 12. The theme of the essay
contest is "Storytelling in the Hindu Tradition: Its Significance in
My Life as an Indian American." The essays should be no longer than
500 words and all entries must be submitted with child’s name,
parent’s name, and phone number by Oct. 31 to
saptahbrochure2008@gmail.com.
Also, a poster contest will be held based on submissions by youth in
grades K-5. All artwork must be original and the work of the child, on
a 22" x 28" poster board, and related to or depicting Sri Krishna
Leela. Entries must be dropped off at the Temple office by Nov. 1,
2008. All entries will be on display during the Srimad Bhagavad Saptah
discourse and celebrations from Nov. 9 to 16th.
